What I’m Doing Here

I’m a 40-something small-town dweller, an outgoing introvert, if that’s possible. I’ve lived like a wimp all my life, trying to be good and proper and not ruffle any feathers. Recently I decided I’d had enough of that, so I started Amber Starts Today with the intention of chronicling my attempts to live a more self-directed life, one more in line with my true desires and gut feelings. What it’s become is a place for me to express myself about whatever gets me rattling the keyboard at any given time. I suppose I’m accomplishing my original mission in that I’m writing about things that interest me, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. If it turns out anybody else enjoys it, well, that’s icing on the cake.

  1. I can definitely relate to the outgoing introvert description of yourself. That’s me to a tee. So yes it’s definitely possible. πŸ™‚ At 50 years old, the outgoing part of my introvert-ism (if that’s a word) usually comes out when something or somebody ruffles my feathers: domestic violence, children’s rights, employee rights ( are just a few) Seems like the older I get, the easier it is to speak my mind; something I shied away from when I was younger.
Guess I missed that lesson on good and proper. πŸ™‚

    • My pleasure, and thanks. I found you via Sweet Mother, who said she had learned from you. Being new at this, I’m looking for all the positive examples I can find!

      • Sweet Mother is the BEST. I stumbled on her blog when she first started, so I like to take credit for all of her great work. Just kidding. Not take credit. I really like to rip her off. OK, just kidding there too.

Since you’re new I’ll give you some unsolicited advice…find blogs you like, comment, keep supporting others and they and their readers will support you. WordPress is a really awesome community that way.

Good luck and looking forward to reading more of your journey. =)
